September Challenge

The September challenge from Make the Day Special is a colour challenge. They have three colour palettes to choose from. I decided to make a card using colours from the second option, which is yellow with black, white, and grey.

I searched on Pinterest for that colour combo to help spark some ideas. I found a cushion with a chevron design, so I used that for inspiration.

How I made this card:

I die cut the chevron design from white card, to match the card base. I’d adhered a stick-it sheet to the card before die cutting, which made it really easy to attach this fiddly die cut to the card base.

I chose various patterned paper in the shades of the colour palette. I die cut the chevron out of all the papers, then tried to randomly place pieces on the card (it’s so tricky to be random!). Once I was happy with the design, I stuck down the pieces.

For the sentiment, I die cut some black card using the flag die cut. I then heat embossed the greeting in white. I adhered it to the card using foam pieces, and attached some card candi for a finishing touch.
