I saw this great technique called recessed stamping on the MFT website, demonstrated by Barbara Anders. I’ll add the link at the end of this post, as the instructions she gives are really helpful.
Barbara uses the delicate poppies set with this technique. I thought I’d have a go myself.
How I made this card:
I stamped several flowers with memento black dye ink, then coloured them in with my Promarkers. It gives a lovely strong colour to the poppies.
Once I’d figured out my layout, I die cut the shapes out of a piece of card slightly smaller than A6. I stamped the stems on to the card.
On the back of this piece of card, I added foam tape around the die cut spaces, then stuck down the flowers to show through the die cuts. I then added more foam tape to the rest of the card, then placed on the front of an A6 card base.
To finish the card, I added a simple greeting. I really enjoyed this technique and I’m sure I’ll use it again.
Products used to make this card:
- MFT Delicate Poppies stamp set and matching dies
- Memento dye ink
- Promarkers
- Clearly Besotted ‘A Little Sentimental’ stamp set
I’m entering this card imto the following competition(s):
