Handmade Cards

Thanks with Pretty Peonies

I had a very important thank you card to make. I wanted to use a watercolour stamping technique I’d seen others use, and the WPlus9 Pretty Peonies set is perfect for this.

How I made this card:

After adding distress ink to the stamps, I spritzed them with water, then stamped them on card. This gave a lovely watercolour effect, rather than a solid stamped image. For the smaller images, I found that using a brush to add water to the stamp was better than spritzing, as it gave more control over the amount of water. I flicked some distress ink and perfect pearls over the finished stamped picture.

I added a strip of black and white striped paper to the edge of the card base, then trimmed down the card base and stamped panel to fit. Before adding the panel to the card, I added a dotted line for interest. I attached some foam behind the stamped panel, then adhered it to the card.

The word die was cut from silver embossed card. I finished the card with sequins and adhesive gems.
