Guest Designer at CAS(E) This Sketch #180

I am so excited to be asked to guest design at CAS(E) This Sketch this week! I hope you have as much fun playing with this sketch as I did.

Here is the challenge sketch:

This sketch really intrigued me and it took some thought to figure out how to incorporate the gap in the sentiment strip. Here’s my take on the sketch:

I chose a colour scheme of turquoise and yellow for my card. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from the MFT Mini Modern Blooms stamp set with memento ink. I then dye cut them out.

For the strip across the middle, I die cut a black card banner using one of the banners from the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners die set.

I cut the banner into two pieces and arranged them on the card so the flags met, with a gap in between. Before attaching to the card, I heat embossed in white a sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Many Messages stamp set on the banner for the right hand side of the card. I also added a thin silver glitter strip to the top for a little bling.

I arranged flowers and leaves, then adhered them to the card. For the largest flower and the flower on the left, I used foam squares for dimension.

I decided to use enamel dots for the top left detail, and found some in turquoise to match the flower and leaves.

Finally, I couldn’t resist adding some blue adhesive gems to the centre of the yellow flowers and a grey enamel dot to the centre of the turquoise flower.

Thank you to Chrissy and the team at CAS(E) This Sketch for inviting me to join them for this challenge.
