Handmade Cards, Pretty Pink Posh DT

Hummingbird Watercolour Splash

The beautiful images in the Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbird Thanks stamp set are perfect for many different colouring techniques. For the card I’m sharing today, I did some watercolouring.

I love to reach for my zig real brush pens when I want to do some watercolour painting. I love the vibrancy and how well they blend together.

I began by stamping two hummingbirds in versafine onyx black ink on to watercolour paper, then heat embossing them with clear embossing powder.

I chose some zig pens in rainbow colours, adding ink to different areas, then blending out with a water brush.

To add some splashes of colour, I scribbled some of the purple and pink onto an acrylic block, mixed with some water, then flicked it onto the paper. I concentrated the splashes around the hummingbird wings.

Once dry, I adhered the panel to a card base, rounding a couple of the corners. I love how this gives the card a nice finished look.

I added a die cut ‘hello’ from the new Pretty Pink Posh Hello Friend die set. I love the font!

I finished the card with some sequins from the new Spring Blooms sequins mix – a favourite of mine.

All these fabulous products will be available on January 10th!

    1. I really like your pretty cards!
I would like to make some for my grand-daughter who came 4 months early, and to put pictures in them as she progress. So when she gets old enough she can look at them, and see how much her grandmother loves her.
