Pretty Pink Posh June Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m so excited to be a part of this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh June release!

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Rachel Alvarado. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features one of my favourites from the new release, the Darling Dragonflies. I love that these images can be coloured any way you want. Of course, that opens the possibility of a rainbow themed card!

To begin, I stamped lots of the dragonflies, then coloured them in a rainbow of copic colours. I added Wink of Stella clear glitter to each, then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

Next, I started working on the card base. I partially stamped a greeting, from the new Simple Saying: Miss You stamp set, on to a piece of card cut to the same size as my card base. To accompany the stamped sentiment, I also die cut the Love You script die from black card.

To give the dragonflies somewhere to sit on the card, I decided to add an acetate window. I first cut the card panel down, then into two. I added a piece of acetate to bridge the gap between them so the panel is once again the same size as my card base.

On the white card base, I blended on blue ink to show through the acetate window. I then adhered the panel on top, using foam sheet behind the card panels. The foam sheet helps to gives dimension between the acetate and the colour on the card base.

I then added the dragonflies over the acetate window, using foam squares behind some of them for more dimension. I also added the ‘love’ script die cut, and finished the card with my favourite Pearl White jewels.
