WOW & Pinkfresh Studio Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today the WOW Design Team are joining forces with the fabulous Pinkfresh Studio Creative Team for a fun-filled Blog Hop.

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Flora Markas. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the Pinkfresh Studio Sweet Treats stamp set with WOW Sweet Cheeks and Metallic Gold embossing powders. I love this combination of pink and gold together.

I began by die cutting a stitched square, slightly smaller than my square card base. To this I added a soft layer of spun sugar distress oxide ink.

I stamped the cake stand from the Sweet Treats stamp set with black ink and die cut it with the coordinating die. I also die cut the tiered cake from white card. It’s best to do this before stamping the three separate layers so you can ensure the stamping is correctly spaced to fit the die cut piece.

I placed the negative and positive die cut cake pieces in my stamping platform – the negative piece helps to keep the die cut in the correct place. I stamped the top layer with WOW embossing ink, then heat embossed it with WOW Sweet Cheeks colour blend embossing powder.

Next, I stamped the bottom layer with the embossing ink and heat embossed that with WOW Metallic Gold embossing powder. I then added the middle layer, stamping it with spun sugar distress oxide ink. I also added some gold heat embossed detail to the middle layer, using a stamp in the set.

On the stitched square panel, I stamped and gold heat embossed a sentiment and some stars from the set. I then adhered this onto the card base, and added the cake stand with liquid glue and the tiered cake with foam tape.

I added some of the flowers from the stamp set to the cake, stamped with picked raspberry distress oxide ink, alongside a gold heat embossed flower. I finished with some Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear jewels.

The beautiful embossing powders from WOW really complement this fun stamp set from Pink Fresh Studio. That icing looks so lovely!
