Heffy Doodle October Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m so excited to be joining this special blog hop, celebrating the Heffy Doodle October release!

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Jessica Frost-Ballas. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the fantastic Veggie Patch stamp set, Basket Case stencil and the Metric Stitched Rectangles.

I began by stamping the images from the Veggie Patch stamp set, then colouring them with copics. These images are great fun as they really suit vibrant, bold colours. I die cut them with the coordinating dies, then added white and black gel pen details.

Next, I die cut a rectangle using the Metric Stitched Rectangle die set. I was so excited to see this set in the release. I make a lot of A6 cards so a metric rectangle set is an absolute must have for me. I love this stitching detail on both the inside and outside of the cut line. It makes it a very versatile set. Heffy Doodle also have an imperial rectangle die set, if you prefer to make A2 sized cards.

I taped the Basket Case stencil down over the panel, then added clear embossing powder with a blending tool and foam. I kept the ink to the right hand side of the card, lightening the amount of ink for a faded, distressed effect.

I added WOW Perissa colour blend embossing powder and heat embossed it. This embossing powder has a beautiful marbling effect when heated, giving areas of copper and silver.

I adhered the panel to a white card base then added a die cut vellum circle on top. This softens an area of the background, ready for a sentiment banner. I heat embossed one of the fun sentiments onto a strip of black card using WOW Metallic Copper embossing powder. I then adhered this over the vellum circle.

I then added the veggies on top of the card with foam tape. I love how happy and playful they look! I finished the card with some Pretty Pink Posh Espresso jewels, which compliment the embossing powders perfectly.
