Pretty Pink Posh March 2019 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m so excited to be joining this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh March release!

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Amy Yang. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the beautiful new Peacock Friends. This set has quickly become my favourite Pretty Pink Posh stamp set and I think it’s an absolute must have. I’ve also added some images from the new Spring Wreath set, which has lovely flower and leaf images.

I began my card by working on the background. I created two background panels, using a blend of evergreen bough, peacock feathers and twisted citron distress oxides. Once the ink was dry, I treated one panel with an anti-static powder and stamped the two feather images all over the background with WOW clear embossing ink. I then heat embossed the images with WOW Metallic Gold Rich Pale Super Fine embossing powder.

I die cut the embossed panel with the Storybook 6 die, then trimmed the panel down further to be 4.5 x 5.5 inches. I layered this panel onto a piece of dark blue card stock, then onto my white A2 card base. In the frame, I adhered the two square embossed inner frame pieces.

From the other inked panel, I die cut the Storybook 6 die again. I just need the inner frame rectangle pieces of the die cut this time. On one of these rectangle pieces, I embossed a greeting from the Peacock Friends stamp set with WOW Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder. I then adhered both pieces into the frame on the card.

Next, I stamped one of the peacock images, coloured with copic markers, and used the coordinating die to cut it out. These are the copic colours I used:

  • B00, B02, B05, B97 for the body and feather detail
  • E43 for the legs
  • Y15, Y17 for the beak and feather detail
  • BG11, BG23, BG15, BG49, YG01, YG03 for the peacock feathers

I wanted to add a branch to my card for the peacock to sit on, and found the perfect branch in the Birdie Friends stamp set. I layered a branch and some leaves onto my card, then added the peacock on top with foam tape.

For a pop of contrasting colour, I added some flowers and leaves from the new Spring Wreath stamp set. The top most flowers are adhered with foam tape. I just love that pink against the turquoise and gold background.
