Pretty Pink Posh August 2021 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m excited to be joining this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh August release! 

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Carly Minner. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the new Halloween Wreath stamp set, with the Trellis stencil. I love the bright, fun colours of Halloween and this release has lots of great Halloween products.

To create the background, I taped the Trellis stencil over an A2 card base, and blended over Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink. I kept the colour stronger at the edges for some contrast.

Next, I stamped the Halloween Wreath image and coloured it with copic markers. I used the following copic colours: 

  • RV02, RV04, RV06
  • YR02, YR14, YR16
  • Y13, Y15, Y17
  • V12, V15, V17
  • YG01, G12, G14
  • N0, N3, N5, NY

I then die cut the Halloween Wreath with the coordinating die.

The large sentiment from the Halloween Wreath stamp set fits perfectly in the space inside the wreath. I heat embossed it on a strip of black pearlescent card, using WOW Opaque Bright White super fine embossing powder.

I adhered the sentiment strip on to my card base. To add a pop of colour and to compliment the colours in the wreath, I die cut two thin strips of pink glitter card to adhere above and below the black strip. I used a die from the Simple Strips die set to cut these, which helps to get an even width. Much easier than using a trimmer.

For dimension, I added two plain die cut layers behind the wreath, then adhered it to the card to finish.
