Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m so excited to be joining this very special blog hop, celebrating Pretty Pink Posh turning 4 and the fantastic new release!

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Yoonsun Hur. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the beautiful new Hummingbird Thanks set from the January release. I love the images in this set – they are such fun to colour.

I began my card by working on the background. I wanted some texture whilst still keeping things clean and simple. I stamped the images with versamark ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder first, then used the coordinating dies to add a dry embossed outline around each image.

I chose a sentiment from another new stamp set, called Love Sentiments. Teaming this beautiful sentiment with the embossed hummingbird background gives the card an elegant look, perfect for a wedding or anniversary.

I heat embossed the greeting in silver on white card, then layered it with foam tape over a vellum panel. The vellum helps it stand out a little from the white background.

For the hummingbirds, I chose some blue and blue/green copic colours, then added some blue/violet colour to the wings. To try and imitate the iridescent shine on the feathers, I added a little Wink of Stella clear glitter in a few places.

I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out, then added them to the card with foam tape. I love the pop of colour from the hummingbirds. I finished my card with a few clear sparkling sequins.

  5. The hummingbirds are my favorite. Love how you embossed them on your card then colored the two birds wonderfully. I can imagine them shining is the sun light. Nicely done.

      To dry emboss with your dies, you need a tan embossing mat for your die cutting machine. This stops the die from cutting when you run it through the machine and embosses the shape into the card instead. As the die is slightly larger than the stamped image, it gives an embossed outline around the image.
