Pretty Pink Posh September Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m excited to be joining this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh September release!

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from the fabulous Eloise Blue. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the beautiful new Anemones stamp set and coordinating dies. This set includes flowers and leaves in different sizes, along with a cluster of flowers, perfectly arranged for quick and simple cards.

I began by stamping the images with a copic friendly ink. I looked online to see what colours anemones come in and there are loads of options! I love the soft pastel flowers so I chose some copics in pale colours. I die cut them with the coordinating dies, then used some WOW embossing glitter in Pacific Wave to add some pretty detail to the flower centres.

For the background, I wanted to create a mod pattern for my flowers to sit on. I love the graphic look of this style. From the centre of a piece of white card, I die cut the largest diamond from the PPP Stitched Diamonds set.

I used post-it tape to mask the four corners around the die cut window, then blended on some soft pastel inks. I included two colours to match the flowers, to help bring the design together.

To add another graphic element, I used a ruler and an embossing pen to add lines around the diamond window. I then heat embossed them with WOW Metallic Gold Super Fine embossing powder.

I adhered the panel to a card base then added a sentiment, from the new Simple Sayings: Kind stamp set, to the centre of the diamond. I heat embossed it with gold to match the embossed lines.

I placed the flowers and leaves around the sentiment, using foam tape to pop up some of the flowers. As a finishing touch, I adhered some of the new Blue Lagoon jewels to the centre of the flowers.

  22. Love the Blue Lagoon jewels in the center of those flowers. I didn’t even notice them at first – my eye was drawn to the colors of the flowers. Then I read further and saw the photo of the close up of the jewels. Now that is all I see when I look back at the other photos. So beautiful!

  25. Very pretty card! I’ve been looking at the stitch diamond dies so it’s really nice seeing them in use. The center of your flowers really stand out and add so much to your design.
