Spellbinders Dancin’ Halloween Collection

Today I’m sharing cards made with products from the Spellbinders Dancin’ Halloween Collection.

I’m using the Dancin’ Grim and Dancin’ Boy Day of the Dead sets on my cards today. These fun interactive die sets have moving parts and are simple to put together.

I began by die cutting the pieces from each set from a range of coloured card stock. I layered the pieces together, adding double layers for the moving parts, along with the thin handle of the scythe. This makes them a little stronger.

Dancin’ Boy Day of the Dead

This character made me think of the Disney Pixar film ‘Coco’, which is all about the Day of the Dead. I looked at posters for the film, which have lovely purple and orange/yellow backgrounds. This inspired my card background.

I cut patterned papers in purple and yellow. On the purple piece, I foiled the previously released Slimline Confetti Background with polished brass foil.

On the yellow piece, I stamped a sentiment from a Pretty Pink Posh Halloween set.

I added the patterned paper to an A2 card base, then the character on top.

The legs of the Dancin’ Boy Day of the Dead have a circle at the top. I placed some small 3mm deep foam squares on my card, then slotted the circle over the top. If you need to, use some powder around the edges of the foam squares so the legs don’t stick.

Dancin’ Grim

For the Dancin’ Grim card, I cut a panel of patterned paper and foiled the previously released Hypnotic Background with prism foil.

I adhered this to an A2 card base, then added the grim on top. I followed the same steps as the previous card to add the moving robe for the grim.

Finally, I added a foiled sentiment, from an older Spellbinders set. I foiled it with the same prism foil, on black card.
