Card bases and envelopes 

I’ve been trying to decide whether to start making my own card bases and envelopes. I haven’t been entirely happy with pre-made ones – they never seem thick enough to stand up under the weight of layers, and the envelopes always seem too tight,

I decided to investigate alternatives. The wonderful UK craft blogger, Michelle Short (The Card Grotto), has made videos on her own cardstock investigations, so I watched those, which have been really helpful. I also contacted Michelle to ask her a couple of questions and she wrote a lovely detailed reply.

So, I’m going to get some cardstock to make my own bases, and a gadget for making envelopes too. I’ll update on progress once I’ve got a bit further with it all.
