I started this card with the intention of trying a technique I’d seen online, where you stamp with water onto distress ink. Well, this just did not work for me at all. I tried 3 times and just couldn’t get it looking anywhere near good enough. I finally gave up and adapted the design!
How I made this card:
I stamped the flower image with Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Then I blended three colours of distress ink over the image.
I trimmed the stamped image down so it fit a portion of an A6 card base. For the bottom of the card, I ran the Lil’Inker quilted stitched swirl die and a piece of white card through my die cut machine. I adhered a piece to the bottom of the card, with the stamped image attached to the top.
Next, I heat embossed a ‘birthday’ greeting in white onto black card, trimmed it down, and attached to the card. I also added a thin strip of silver glitter paper underneath the greeting.
The ‘happy’ word was die cut in the same silver glitter paper, with stick-it adhesive on the back to make it easier to attach to the card.
Finally, I rounded the corners with my corner chomper.
