Birthday cards are definitely what I make the most, so I’m always looking for stamp sets with varied birthday greetings. The Altenew Birthday Greetings stamp set has fabulous sentiments plus a three step layered balloon.
I wanted a watercolour look to the balloons so I stamped them on watercolour card using distress inks. I used a water brush to soften and move the colour around.
I flicked some watered down distress ink onto the card, then used a heat gun to dry the watercolour card. I added some highlight detail with a white gel pen. With a black fineliner pen, I drew in sketchy outlines and strings to the balloons.
I cut the panel down to be a little narrower than an A6 card, then attached it to a dark grey card front.
I chose a sentiment from the same stamp set, and heat embossed it in white on black cardstock. I used a die from the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banner die set to cut a flag banner, then adhered this flat on to the card.
Finally, I added some enamel dots in matching colours.
