Handmade Cards

Inspired by Pinterest #6

I saw the most stunning card by the wonderful May Sukyong Park, and I just had to have a go at recreating it. I encourage you to take a look at May’s blog as she is incredibly talented.

I started by prepping a piece of white cardstock with an anti-static powder tool. I stamped some flowers from the Clearly Besotted Round Roses stamp set using Versamark ink, then heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.

I chose distress inks in spun sugar and picked raspberry, and blended them across the background to create a ombre.

For the sentiment, I die cut a ‘happy’ from the WPlus9 Happy Trio Dies in gold glitter paper. To go with this, I white heat embossed the word ‘birthday’ on black card from the Clearly Besotted A Little Sentimental stamp set.

I added a few Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets around the sentiment.

I created a second card, this time using the WPlus9 Summer Blooms stamp set and some glitter gold embossing powder. The distress ink blending was harder to do with the glitter embossing powder, though, as it dislodged a lot of the glitter.
