MFT Guest Designer Day 1 – Happy Hedgehogs

I’m thrilled to be a guest designer for My Favorite Things this month. Thank you so much to all the team at MFT for having me. Please check out my blog post on the MFT blog here!

As a huge fan of My Favorite Things, I am always excited to see their new release countdown each month and all the fabulous cards their design team create.

Today I’m sharing a card using the newly released Happy Hedgehogs stamp set and die-namics. I can’t get enough of these cute hedgehogs! Head over to the MFT blog to see two more cards I’ve made featuring this adorable stamp set. I’ll show you these cards in more detail on my own blog later this week.

An apology for any subscribers who had a preview of this post a week or so ago, I had some tech gremlins who were a little overexcited about sharing my card with you. Hopefully I’ve got rid of them all now!

Hedgehog Lean On Me Card
There are two hedgehogs in the MFT Happy Hedgehogs stamp set that can be angled to lean in to each other. They are so sweet and work perfectly with the sentiment ‘You can always lean on me’.

I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens to colour the images, then die cut them with the matching dies. To give the hedgehogs something to sit on, I die cut a circle and frame using the MFT single stitched line circle frame die-namics, adding colour with distress inks. I used a small paint brush to flick on gold perfect pearls and water for added interest.

I heat embossed in gold a pile of the different leaf images from the set to add around the hedgehogs on the card. I added some autumn colour to the leaves with my zig pens.

For the card background, I blended orange distress ink, concentrating the colour at the edges and blending out to white in the centre to create a highlight. I flicked it with water and gold perfect pearls.

The tag is die cut from the MFT Stitched Traditional tag die-namics, with a white heat embossed sentiment. I blended a red distress ink over the tag so the white sentiment really pops.

To finish the card, I added some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
