Today I want to share in more detail a card from my 2nd post as guest designer on the MFT blog this month. It features the Harvest Buddies stamp set, a really cute set from their new release for September. Check out my post on their blog here.
Gathering friends
When I saw the squirrels in the MFT Harvest Buddies stamp set, I could just imagine one of them in a tree, throwing acorns down to the other squirrel with the cart.
On a Kraft card base, I stamped the acorn from the stamp set in Memento rich cocoa dye ink to create a background.
I stamped and coloured the squirrels, acorns and tree trunk with Copics, then die cut them with the matching dies.
I die cut the smallest of the MFT single stitched line rectangle frame die-namics three times from white card stock. I kept one of the rectangles and added a gold heat embossed sentiment. On the frames, I blended spiced marmalade distress ink for some colour. I attached the frames flat on the card at angles, then the sentiment panel with foam tape.
I added the squirrels to the card with foam tape, then finished with a scattering of acorns and sequins around the card.
It’s absolutely gorgeous Gemma. I love the colour gradation on the frames and the silhouette acorns on the Kraft background. A truly lovely design!
