Lawn Fawn and Elphie Selfie

I love discovering new favourite brands. I think as I make more cards, I’m finding my own style more and it’s a fun journey.

I really started to notice Lawn Fawn during their latest release, which is fabulous! I had purchased a few of their dies previously (circle frames and banners) but hadn’t tried any of their stamp sets before I got Elphie Selfie. Now I want them all! Haha!

It’s a good reminder to me to try other brands, rather than always sticking to old favourites, and I would definitely encourage others to do the same. You never know when you’ll find your new favourite.

I wanted to share my Elphie Selfie card, and it’s also a chance for me to join in with the new Lawn Fawnatics competition.

This card began with the idea to have the elephant taking a photo of the bird. I then thought it would be really fun to show that photo inside the card, to bring the inside and outside of the card together.

The images are coloured with copic markers and the background blended with MFT inks. I added a grassy hill and then the elephant, and bird with balloon on the front. I love the flash and click images included in the set, and the fun sentiments.

I coloured another bird and balloon for the inside of the card. I used a Mama Elephant polaroid die, and added the same background colour and a small strip of grass to the photo area. I attached the bird and balloon, cut down any overhanging edges, then added the frame around it.
