We have a new colour challenge over on the Seven Hills Crafts blog this month. I hope you’ll join us for a chance to win a voucher to spend in the store!
I made a card a while back featuring orange poppies (link here) that I’ve been wanting to CASE. When I saw the first colour palette for the latest Seven Hills Crafts challenge, I thought it was the perfect opportunity.
I began by stamping the flowers and leaves from the MFT delicate pretty poppies stamp set over a piece of white card. I used the MFT black hybrid ink.
I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens to colour in the images (colours listed at the end of the post). I didn’t have the right green but used the closest I could find. I blended the colours without water.
To add a sentiment, I used a strip of vellum to knock back the background a little, wrapping it around the card panel and securing at the back. Don’t be afraid to cover a portion of a busy background with vellum. I think it helps to enhance the design and gives a nice clean area for a sentiment.
I added the Neat and Tangled Celebrate die cut over the vellum strip, then a sentiment on a tag underneath.
Don’t forget to check out the competition and have a go.
