I got out the distress inks for today’s card.
I cut a piece of watercolour cardstock to fit a card base, and from this, I die cut a Lil’inker Stitched Butterfly. This set is great as it adds stitching detail around the negative die cut as well as the positive cut, making it very versatile.
I blended on some blue colour directly on the card base, then stuck down the watercolour card piece onto a card base. I added a strip of patterned paper and a little glitter tape at the bottom edge, before rounding the corners with a corner chomper.
On the die cut butterfly, I blended some distress inks. I flicked it with perfect pearls, water and white acrylic paint, which really adds to the distressed look.
I added the butterfly back onto the card, using some adhesive in the middle section and for tape on the with go for dimension. I added a few sparkling gems in the middle of the butterfly too.
Finally, I flicked the card with some watered down distress inks, in the same colours as used on the butterfly.
In other news, myself and some of the Seven Hills Crafts design team are featured in the new Craft Stamper magazine, July issue, on sale today! I have a sneak preview of my featured card on Instagram, with details on where to get your copy, so I hope you’ll join me on Instagram.
