Handmade Cards

Cherry Blossoms and Colouring on Kraft

Today I’m sharing a get well card that I made recently. It’s been a while since I’ve done any colouring with my faber castell polychromos pencils and I wanted to see how they looked on kraft cardstock.

I stamped, in versamark ink, the cherry blossom branch and flowers by The Ton Stamps. This gave me a light impression that I could use for colouring over with the pencils.

I added my lightest colour first, then built colour up towards the shadows, then back to highlights. These pencils blend so well and show up beautiful on the kraft.

Once I’d finished the colouring, I cut down the panel with a rectangle die and added to a white card base.

I heat embossed a greeting from the MFT Essential Greetings stamp set onto a vellum banner, then added it to the card.

A few clear sequins finishes the card.
