MFT Sketch Challenge 370 – Guest Designer

I’m back for my final week as MFT Sketch Challenge guest designer! I’ve had a wonderful time and want to thank MFT again for letting me join them on the challenge blog this month.

Here is a link to this week’s competition, where you can see more inspiration from the fabulous MFT Design Team. I hope you’ll join in with this fun challenge!

For my last inspiration card as guest designer, I just had to use the awesome Viking stamp. This set is perfect for masculine themed cards!

I wanted to make a birthday card, so I used a linked chain oval frame instead of a heart shape. When working with sketches, use them as a starting point but don’t be afraid of adapting them to fit your design.

I die cut a stitched rounded rectangle from the Blueprints 31 set. To draw the eye towards the centre and highlight the wonderful Viking, I used distress oxide inks, in salty ocean, faded jeans and a little black soot at the edges, with the Radiating Rays stencil for a light burst effect.

I heat embossed a greeting at the bottom of the panel, then added the linked chain oval frame above. Before diecutting, I had added some stick it adhesive to the back of the card so it was easier to adhere to the panel.

The Viking is coloured with copics and die cut with the matching die. I added him to the card with foam tape.

To finish the card, I added the panel to a white card base and placed some enamel dots around the sentiment.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope my cards have inspired you to play along with the MFT sketch challenges this month.
