Today I’m sharing a card featuring the fabulous Birthday Scene stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh.
This is a great stamp for those who love to colour, plus it includes a sentiment within the scene so it’s a perfect all-in-one image! I wanted to let the scene really be the focus on this card, so I went for a CAS design.
I began by stamping the image onto a piece of white card. I then created a mask by stamping the image again on full post it notes and fussy cutting it out. This protects the image when I add the background colour.
I placed some masking tape along the bottom edge, then took my peacock feathers distress oxide ink and blended on some ink. I concentrated the ink towards the masked edge, fading it out as I went up. When the masking tape is removed, it leaves a lovely crisp line of colour.
I removed the mask on the image, then coloured it with copics, using the following colours:
- Hedgehog: E50, E53, E55, E57, E59, R20
- Bear: E30, E31, E33, E37, R20
- Rabbit: W0, W1, W3, R20
- Bird: Y11, Y15, Y15, YR14, YR15, R20
- Bee: Y15, Y17, C3, C5
- Banner: RV52, RV55
- Balloons: R22, R24; BV00, BV02; Y11, Y15; YG01, YG03; B00, B02
I then added white gel details to the cheeks and balloons.
Once I finished the colouring, I trimmed down the panel to be slightly shorter than my card base. I added a strip of black and white striped paper to the bottom of the card base, before adding the stamped panel over the top.
