Today I’m sharing a one layer watercolour card featuring the new Puddle Play stamp set from Hello Bluebird.
I love the look of watercolour but I’m definitely more comfortable with copics or colouring pencils. I think it’s good to push yourself out of your comfort zone once in a while, though, and this set is perfect for watercolour.
I began by stamping my images on a piece of watercolour card with a watercolour friendly black ink. Then I added some ink smooshed distress oxide colour over the top. For this technique, I first added some distress ink to an acrylic block, then a little water. Using a piece of acetate, I picked up the colour and ‘smooshed’ it onto the watercolour card.
Once I was happy with the amount of colour on the page, I dried it with a heat tool. I then used some zig clean colour real brush pens to add colour to the images, blending it out with water.
I went over the stamped images with a copic multi-liner pen, to help the lines stand out more. Then I cut down the panel with a rounded rectangle die, adhering it with liquid glue to a dark grey A2 card base. To finish, I added some PPP clear sparkling sequins and some white gel pen details.
so sweet, love these two splashing in the puddles
