For my card today, I’m featuring the adorable Hello Bluebird McGregor’s Garden stamp set. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to visit Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter, and to look around the garden there. It’s a beautiful place and I wanted to recreate a little garden for the bunny in this set to enjoy on my card.
I started with the background. I blended distress oxides in cracked pistachio and peacock feathers on to a piece of white card. I then used the Hello Bluebird Sprinkles background stamp to add some fun dots in the peacock feathers ink. To add more texture, I spritzed the card with some sparkle spray, then dried the panel with a heat tool.
To give the bunny scene a place on the card, I die cut a rectangle window with a slight angle which adds some interest. I layered a piece of gingham patterned paper behind the window, then added the panel to a card base.
I stamped and coloured lots of images from the McGregor’s Garden stamp set, using copic markers, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I layered the images in the rectangle window, adding some leaves from the Hello Bluebird Jungle Littles set to fill out the scene. I used liquid glue for most of the images, and foam tape behind the bunny and bird.
For the sentiment, I die cut a black glitter ‘hello’ word from the Gallery Frame #1 die set. I adhered this to the card and finished with a few green jewels.
