Today I’m sharing a card using the adorable Pretty Pink Posh Cuddly Cats. It’s been a while since I’ve used the embossed resist technique to make a background, so I decided I’d make a colourful distress oxide background for this card.
I began by white heat embossing the smaller images from Cuddly Cats on to a piece of white card, using WOW Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder. I also embossed some of the paw print image that is included in the Halloween Pals stamp set.
Next, I blended on distress oxide inks in tattered rose, spun sugar, picked raspberry and seedless preserves. I added water droplets for some distressed details, then adhered the panel to my card base. Using a dry paper towel, I removed any ink from my embossing so it’s bright white again.
I stamped two of the cats from Cuddly Cats, then coloured them with warm grey copics. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.
For the sentiment, I die cut the Thankful For You Script die from black card. I adhered three layers of the die cut words, so they had some dimension. I used stick it adhesive sheets to make it easy to adhere the, together, then on the background.
I added the cats with foam squares, then finished the card with some Blue Lagoon jewels.
