Today I’m sharing a card I made with the Spellbinders March 2019 Small Die of the Month kit. I was sent this kit by Spellbinders to try and I’m always impressed with the quality of the kits they offer.
The Spellbinders Small Die of the Month kit is a monthly subscription. It’s also available as part of the Value Club options.
The March 2019 card kit is called ‘Hop Into Spring’ and features 18 die templates that are perfect for Spring cards and more! Those bunnies are so cute and I love the layering flowers.
I began my card by die cutting the pieces from FSJ cardstock, using the following colours:
- Tin Pail and Black Licorice for the bunnies
- Citrus Cooler for the carrots
- Lemon Grass and Limeade Splash for the greenery
- Pineapple Smoothie, Rustic Rose, and Buttercream for the flowers
- Black Licorice and Pineapple Smoothie for the sentiment
On my card base, I layered a piece of Lawn Fawn Spring Plaid paper with foam tape. I then adhered the flowers so they tucked in behind the grass. I cut the stems so the heights were varied.
For the bunnies, I first drew around the outlines on white card to create back panels for adhering the pieces. This is because I want to layer them on top of the grass so they will need foam tape behind them at the top.
Rather than die cutting the bunnies from pink to get the nose and ear pieces, I just used a copic marker to colour over the light grey pieces I’d already die cut.
I added my layered die cut sentiment at the top of the card, then stamped an accompanying sentiment from the Hello Bluebird Spring Banner Script stamp set.
To finish, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sparkling Jewels around the sentiment, along with white gel pen details on the images.
