Today I have a wedding card to share featuring the Diamond Lace Frame Cut & Emboss folder from Spellbinders. These special embossing folders have etched dies embedded inside so they cut and emboss in one pass to give a beautiful textured card background.
My theme for this card is Alice in Wonderland. I think the Diamond Lace Frame Cut & Emboss folder has a look of a playing card, with hearts and a diamond, so it’s perfect for this theme.
I began by running a piece of white card through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine inside the Cut and Emboss folder. The sandwich to use with this machine is: platform plate, cut and emboss folder with the card inside and one cutting plate.
I chose one of my favourite wedding sentiments, from the WPlus9 Fresh Cut Wreaths stamp set. I heat embossed it with WOW Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder, then layered the white card over a piece of Sweet Berry FSJ card.
The May 2019 Card Kit from Spellbinders has a great floral die set included in it. By die cutting the top layer of the rose from Sweet Berry FSJ card and the background layer from white card, it gives the look of ‘painting the roses red’ (or dark pink in this case).
I die cut the leaves from Limeade Splash card, layered them onto my card and then the rose over the top with foam tape.
I adhered everything to a white card base, then added some Pretty Pink Posh Pearl White jewels to finish.
Spellbinders have a great collection of Cut & Emboss folders. For more inspiration, check out this post.
