Spellbinders February 2020 Card Kit

Today I’m sharing cards made with the Spellbinders February 2020 card kit. The kit is packed full with everything you need to make at least 10 cards. It’s definitely possible to make more, though.

The Spellbinders card kit is a monthly subscription. You can also purchase the kit extras separately, if you only want select items or would like more embellishments. For those that want to join multiple clubs and save, Spellbinders offers Value Clubs.

The February 2020 card kit is called ‘Unicorn Dreams’. With lots of bright rainbow colours, I love the fun happy vibe of this kit.

In the kit, you get the following items:

  • 10 textured white card bases with envelopes
  • 9 pieces of smooth cardstock
  • Set of 13 dies
  • Paper pad
  • Stamp set
  • Double sided tape
  • Foam squares
  • Sequins
  • Die cut shapes
  • Memory cards
  • Sticker pack

I have 4 cards to share using the kit. The only items I used in addition to the kit contents were:

  • Liquid adhesive (my preferred adhesive type)
  • Extra foam tape
  • Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard
  • Altenew inks – Puffy Heart, Fresh Lemon, Ocean Waves, Wisteria
  • WOW Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder
  • WOW clear embossing ink
  • Nuvo ink pad black shadow
  • Corner chomper

Here are the cards I made:

Card 1

  • Cut a piece of patterned paper and adhere to a card base.
  • Add a thin gold card strip beside this.
  • Use double sided tape to add a die cut tag shape.
  • Use foam tape to adhere the die cut palette and paintbrush die cut shape.

Card 2

  • Adhere a piece of patterned paper to a card base.
  • Cut a piece of gold card slightly larger than the ‘make a wish’ memory card.
  • Round the corner of the gold card using a corner chomper, then add both to the card base.
  • Use foam tape to adhere the cake die cut shape on top of the memory card.
  • Finish by adding some Nuvo glitter to the candle flame.

Card 3

  • Cut a piece of patterned paper and adhere to a card base.
  • Add a thin gold card strip.
  • Use liquid glue to add the hashtag and word die cut shapes.
  • Add some speech bubble die cut shapes and the phone die cut shape with foam tape.
  • Use a sticker to add one more text bubble to the phone.

Card 4 – Kit extras card

This card uses just the kit extras, which are also available separately.

  • Create your own patterned paper using the rainbow stamps in the Unicorn Dreams stamp set.
  • Stamp a sentiment from the set on the panel.
  • Emboss stars on the panel with gold embossing powder.
  • Layer the panel on a piece of patterned paper.
  • Add to a card base.
  • Finish by adhering two thin strips of gold card at the edges of the stamped panel.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards I made with this fabulous kit.
