Spellbinders July 2020 Small Die of the Month

Today I’m sharing a card made with the July 2020 Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders.

This month, you get the Ornamental Floral Card Creator set, with 4 cutting dies. The outline style dies in this set give lots of possibilities for adding colour.

I began by die cutting one of the floral corner dies 4 times from white card. I layered two together for each corner.

Next, I die cut the same floral corner die twice more, this time from a watercolour piece I’d created using Lilac Waterfall and Cherry Bomb Nuvo Shimmer Powders. As the textured watercolour card stayed together when die cut, it was easier to adhere the white frame die cuts over the top and not lose the inner pieces. If any pieces do come out, either tape them at the back or glue them into place once the frame is on the card base.

I also die cut some of the flowers from white card and the watercolour piece, layering some together for dimension I’ll use these to decorate around the sentiment.

For my sentiment, I used a die from the June Glimmer Kit of the Month. As I received this later than usual, I wasn’t able to create a inspiration card with it last month, so thought I would include it on my card today.

I die cut the Essentials Label glimmer kit add-on for July from white card, adding the dot detail around the edge. I used Polished Brass glimmer foil to add the sentiment in the centre, then I layered it over another Essential Label, die cut from a lovely purple cardstock to match the flowers.

I used liquid glue to adhere the labels to the card, then the floral corners and the individual flowers to finish. I love the elegant look of the layered frame florals.
