Spellbinders Fall/Halloween collection

Today I’m sharing a card featuring some fabulous products from the Spellbinders Fall/Halloween collection.

This collection has a mix of dies and glimmer sets for making fun seasonal cards. There are 2 sets for Fall and 4 sets for Halloween. My card today uses the fun Spooky Greetings glimmer set along with the Halloween Sunday Drive die set.

The Halloween Sunday Drive set is designed to work with the previously released Sunday Drive die set. If you have that set already, this is a must-have add-on!

I began by die cutting the pieces from the Sunday Drive set to create my spooky car. I used pearlescent black and silver card, along with a fun halloween colour palette of purple, orange, and green.

The Halloween Sunday Drive die set features two figures – a skeleton and a witch – who can sit in the car. I decided to use the skeleton a little differently, with the arm hanging out of the boot (or trunk) of the car!

The set also includes two number plate words, along with some decorative items for the car and also some bats to fly above the car.

Next, I created my background. On a panel of white card, I blending on distress oxides in twisted citron, mowed lawn, and pine needles. I then darkened the edges with black soot distress oxide ink. This is one of my favourite combos for Halloween skies. I flicked the panel with lots of water droplets to add distress details.

In the Spooky Greetings glimmer set, there are 5 glimmer sentiments along with 3 glimmer images. Once the ink on the panel was dry, I used the moon and bats glimmer plate with silver foil to add this onto the inked panel. The silver foiling looks beautiful against the spooky inked sky.

I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a card base, adding a thin strip of pearlescent black card against both edges. I then used foam squares to add the Halloween car on to the card.

For the sentiment, I chose one of the glimmer plates in the Spooky Greetings glimmer set. I used the same silver foil to glimmer the sentiment onto a purple strip of card. I then adhered this flat onto the card base to finish.
