Spellbinders September 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit

Today I’m sharing a card I made with the Spellbinders September 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil kit and the add-on set.

This month, you get Have a Colorful Day – a set of 8 plates and 2 glimmer plates with a rainbow theme. A roll of the very popular rainbow foil is also included, which is a wonderful addition. Rainbows are on of my favourite things so I really enjoyed this kit.

The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.

You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.

I used some pretty Speckled Prism foil to foil the rainbow plates on to different colours of card stock. I found it easier to glimmer first, then use the die from set to cut each rainbow piece out. I added some extra white layers behind each rainbow piece for dimension.

For the clouds, I die cut them from some white card which I’d previously foiled with the Twinkle Lights glimmer plate and Speckled Prism foil. I find it handy to have foiled pieces ready for adding to projects like this.

On another piece of white card, I used Polished Brass foil to add a sentiment from the kit. I then adhered the rainbow and clouds underneath.

On my card base, I added a strip of dark blue card which I’d also previously foiled with the Twinkle Lights glimmer plate and Speckled Prism foil. I then adhered the white panel on my card base to finish.
