Spellbinders October 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit

Today I’m sharing a card I made with the Spellbinders October 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil kit and the add-on set.

This month, you get the Crimson Fall glimmer set, featuring a leafy half frame and two sentiments. It’s quick and easy to create a beautiful background with space for a greeting in the centre.

The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.

You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.

I’ve been enjoying creating my own patterned paper backgrounds with a gel plate and distress oxide inks. I picked one of these papers to use with the October Glimmer kit. The distress oxide ink combo is Squeezed Lemonade, Carved pumpkin and Candied Apple.

I used the Polished Brass foil included in this months kit as it’s one of my favourite metallic foils. I secured the glimmer plate with some washi tape and also used a shim, as the background paper is lighter weight than my usual card.

I repeated the foiling on the other half of the background panel, to create a beautiful leafy frame. I then trimmed down the background and adhered it to a white card base.

There are a couple of sentiment glimmer plates included in the kit, but I decided to go for a different look. I chose a glimmer plate from the More Sentiments glimmer set, foiling 3 times with Polished Brass foil on Red Velvet pearlescent card.

I trimmed down the sentiments into strips and adhered them to the card with foam tape to finish.
