My card today was inspired by some beautiful crochet Christmas trees that my talented sister made for me. She used my favourite colours – turquoise and purple.
To bring those colours into my card, I embossed the snowflake border from the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Borders stamp set with the WOW Embossing Forever 13 trio of glitters. I cut 1 inch strips of white card to emboss the border on, then layered them onto my card base.
Next, I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Tree Shaker die from Silver Silk embossed card. I layered this over a white card die cut for dimension.
As the background has lots of detail, I adhered a layer of vellum behind the tree die cut. This softens the background behind the tree and also gives me a place to stamp an additional sentiment.
The sentiment is from the Pretty Pink Posh Holiday Signs stamp set. I selectively stamped the word ‘Christmas’ in Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then adhered the tree on the card to finish.
