Spellbinders December 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit

Today I’m sharing a card I made with the Spellbinders December 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil kit and the add-on set.

This month, you get Glimmer Mix & Match – a set of 6 glimmer plates and 1 cutting die, along with a roll of silver foil. Combine the plates in the set to create different foiled frames, including delicate sentiments.

The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.

You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.

I chose the floral and the leaf glimmer plates to create my frame. I love this combination together and there is room inside the frame for a large sentiment.

I used washi tape to secure the plates together, then foiled them with the silver foil included in the kit. I find that silver and blue foils often need a shim added to the plate sandwich, in order to foil better.

There is a sentiment and die included in the kit to use in the centre of the frame, but I decided to use a large birthday sentiment from the Let Your Sentiments Shine glimmer kit (available separately). I foiled it in the centre of the panel with black foil.

I used zig pens to add colour to the frame images. I then layered some foam sheet behind the foiled panel, before adhering it on one of my gel plate printed backgrounds. I have lots of these backgrounds in a box ready to use on projects. The distress oxide inks I used for this print were twisted citron, pine needles and chipped sapphire.

I finished by adhering some Ivory jewels from Pretty Pink Posh around the frame.
