The Stitched Strips and Simple Strips die sets from Pretty Pink Posh are great essential sets to have in your craft collection. They are perfect for creating graphic backgrounds.

For my card today, I’ve used two of the dies from the Stitched Strips die set. I cut 5 different colours of blue card.
I cut a piece of thin printer paper to the size of my card base, which is 4.75 inches square. This will be my base which I’ll build my card strip pattern on top. You could adhere straight onto the card base, but I plan on trimming down the pattern to leave a white border.

I used liquid glue to adhere the pieces in a random pattern. I mixed the length and width of the strips to add interest, and also tried to avoid putting the same colour next to each other.
It didn’t take too long to create the pattern. I actually made two panels at the same time, as I had plenty of die cut strips.

Once I’d finished the background, I used a paper trimmer to cut the panel down and tidy the edges. I adhered it to my card base with double sided tape, leaving a white border.
To finish the card, I added a stacked die cut sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh. This is the Happy Birthday To You Script die, which fills the square card nicely. The top layer is cut from gold satin mirror card.
