Today I’m sharing a look at the new Layered Holly Stencil set from Pretty Pink Posh, which was part of their October release.

There are 3 stencils in this set, which help to build up a beautiful background pattern. I love the look of monochrome and gold – a different look to the more traditional Christmas colours.

I cut a panel of 6×6 white card. As this is the same size as the stencils, it’s easier to line up the layers.
I inked the leaf layer with Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink. The second layer is the leaf detail, which I added with Black Soot distress oxide ink.

For the final stencil layer, I used Nuvo Glacier Paste in Golden Era. This has lots of pearlescent shine and really stands out well against the monochrome colours.
Once the paste was dry, I trimmed down the panel to 5.25 inches square and adhered to my card base.

I kept the sentiment simple so as not to cover up too much of the pattern. The sentiments are from the Holiday Scripts stamp set, and are heat embossed on black pearlescent card.

A wonderful take on the usual colors of holly. It’s a nice touch, Gemma. Warm hugs from San Antonio, Texas.
