I’m sharing a card today inspired by the June colour challenge from Hello Bluebird. I think these colours are perfect for a warm summer beach scene, so I chose an old favourite- Hippos on Holiday.

To create my scene, I used the Ocean Waves Scene Horizontal scene die. Although this is meant for slimline cards, it’s easy to adapt it to work on different sized card bases.
I used distress oxide inks to add colour to the die cut pieces. For the sky, I blended the ink directly on to my square card base, then adhered the pieces.

The new Rainbow Square has a wonderful frame, which can be used without the rainbow pieces. As I want to use this to stand up my card, I layered two together for strength. I then added colour with a distress oxide ink.
The sentiment and images are from Hippos on Holiday, all coloured with copic markers. I added them around the card, some using foam tape, to finish.
