Handmade Cards, Spellbinders

Spellbinders UK Website Launch Celebration Blog Hop

Today I’m joining a special blog hop, to celebrate the launch of the Spellbinders U.K. store!

If you’ve been admiring the club kits, they are also available for shipping directly from the U.K., making them even better value.

For my card today, I’m using the recently released More Holiday Decorations die set and the soon to be released Twilight Sparkle Strip glimmer plate (available Aug 14). I thought I’d share how to make a birthday card using these holiday products.

On a 5.25” square panel of white card, I used the Twilight Sparkle Strip with speckled prism foil. I foiled it three times to cover the whole panel.

It’s possible to foil over foiling, so I did this for the sentiment. I used a lovely happy birthday glimmer plate from an older set, foiling in bright pink across the centre of the panel.

Next, I die cut fairy lights from the More Holiday Decorations die set. I love how Spellbinders included a die so you can layer a piece behind to show through the catch light.

I die cut them from a rainbow of card and also a pearl white, using liquid glue to adhere them together. For the fairy light toppers, I die cut them from silver mirror card.

The fairy light strings are die cut from grey card stock. I added some stick-it adhesive sheet behind the card before die cutting, to make them easier to adhere on my card.

I adhered the strings directly on the card base, then added the fairy lights with foam tape to finish.
