Pretty Pink Posh June 2023 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m joining this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh June release! With a fun fruit theme, this release is giving all the summer vibes.

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Stefanie Loh. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the new Watermelon stamp set. I created a background with cardstock and jewels to continue the watermelon theme.

I began with the background of my card. I used the Stitched Strips to cut out different pink and green coloured card, then adhered them on my mini slimline card base. I left space at the bottom for my sentiment.

Both sentiments are from the Watermelon stamp set. I stamped the larger word in pink and die cut it out with the coordinating die, adding additional layers behind for dimension. I stamped the accompanying sentiment directly on the card, then adhered the larger word underneath.

Next, I stamped out images from the Watermelon stamp set, then coloured them with copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out, then adhered them to my card base with a mix of liquid glue and foam tape.

To complete the background’s watermelon theme, I adhered some of the smallest size of Glossy Black jewels, to represent the watermelon pips and to add some sparkle.

Copic colours:

  • Watermelon slices:  G14 G17 RV21 RV23 RV25 E000;
  • Leaves: G17 G28.

  1. Wow, what a very different style of card! Those stripes look fantastic with the watermelon! Wish I’d thought to do that with a card – on my list!!

  2. Gemma, this card is really lovely. The stitched and colorful background with black elements are a wonderful addition and compliment the watermelon so well. Your highlighting is beautiful and I like the leaf that’s cut with the card. TFS

  8. I liked the look of this card when I saw it from afar. It was easily read as a watermelon for the whole card. When I saw the details even closer, I fell in love with it. The sequence as the seeds, the stitching detail on the wise color choices, and the pink pop of Melon with the seeds – it’s perfect! Thank you so much for sharing. My creativity is really inspired and I cannot wait to get these sets in my hands!
