Today I’m sharing a card which is part of a Pretty Pink Posh new release hop over on Instagram. Head over there for more inspiration, and don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to win.
I began with the background. I stencilled over a panel of cream card with the recently released Layered Argyle stencils. I used Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet distress oxide inks. I added some gold flecks with a watered down perfect pearls powder.
Next, I cut down the panel with the largest die in the new Stitched Torn Rectangles die set. I layered this over an A2 panel of Bisque Brown Pure Pearl card from Papermill Direct. This is a really pretty colour that looks lovely with the pinks.
Next, I started working with the new Acorn Shaker die (although I won’t be turning this into a shaker). I die cut the top from the same cream card as the background, then the other piece from red pearlescent cardstock (Tonic Studios). I added some of the same distress oxide colours to the top piece, then flicked everything with gold perfect pearls.
To help the acorn stand out from the background, I decided to layer it over some vellum. I used the Stitched Torn Rectangles die set to add some details on the long edge, then wrapped the vellum around the panel and secured at the back.
I added the panel to an A2 card base, then adhered the acorn on top of the vellum using foam tape.
For the sentiment, I used the new Thankful Shadow die (I’m just using the word, not the shadow this time). I die cut it twice from white card, then a top layer from gold pearl sparkle card (Papermill Direct). I adhered this across the acorn.
I added some finishing touches – a gold bow to the top of the acorn, and some Matte Gold confetti.
