Handmade Cards

August Challenge

The August challenge from Make the Day Special is a sketch challenge. I went back and forth with this but finally decided I would flip the sketch a little and created this card:

How I made the card:

The background is distress ink seedless preserves with perfect pearls mist spritzed all over.

I heat embossed a greeting from MFT on to vellum. Glue dots behind the greeting helped me to secure the vellum to the card. Then I added a selection of flowers and leaves from the WPlus9 Pretty Peonies set, which I had left over from a previous card (I will share that card soon). Sequins and gems were added as a finishing touch.

Products used to make this card:

  • Distress ink – seedless preserves
  • Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist, Perfect Pearls
  • WPlus9 Pretty Peonies stamps and dies
  • MFT Birthday Greetings Stamps
  • WOW white embossing powder
  • Sequins
  • Vellum

I’m entering this card in the following competition:

Pleased to be chosen as a runner up in the Make the Day Special May 2015 challenge
