My ‘Inspired by Pinterest’ series is designed to showcase great ideas from other card makers, and demonstrate that you do not always need the same products to recreate a design you love.
A great card appeared on my Pinterest feed the other day and I loved it so much, I just had to have a go myself. I’ll add a link at the end of my post to the original by Amy Rysavy. Do check it out – it’s fab!
How I made this card:
I blended several distress ink colours on watercolour card, then spritzed them with water. I dried it with a heat tool, then die cut the words ‘happy birthday’ from it.
I die cut the words from foam too, then stuck them together to give dimension. I then cut party balloons in two sizes from card stock. I stuck these down to cover an A6 card base.
I added the die cut words at an angle, then finished the card with a sprinkling of bright sequins. I rounded all the corners of the card too.
I love the finished result and the background is really effective. I made a second version of the card with just blue and silver colours.
Products used to make this card:
- MFT Brushstroke Birthday Greetings Die-namic
- Lawn Fawn Party Balloons die set
- Distress inks
- Foam sheet
- Sequins
- Corner Chomper
