Today I’m so excited to be back on the MFT blog, for my 2nd post as guest designer. I’d love it if you’d check out the post on their blog, where I’ll be sharing three very different cards showcasing some of their awesome September release.
On my blog today, I’m sharing the first of those cards in more detail.
Golden Hello
I love the MFT Big Hello die-namic, it’s perfect for using as a focal point on a card. For this card, I combined it with some patterned paper and a gold heat embossed background, for a monochromatic graphic card.
I heat embossed leaves from the MFT Jumping with Joy stamp set in gold, to create a background for my card.
Next, I used one of the MFT scalloped edge border die-namics to trim down the card. I lined up the Hello die in the centre of the card and die cut this out. I kept the middle part of the O to add back in, but won’t need the positive die cuts for this card.
For a monochromatic look, I chose a piece of gold patterned paper from the MFT Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots paper pack. I added this to cover the front of an A6 notecard.
To add some dimension, I put foam tape behind the heat embossed background, then stuck this down on the card. I added a little piece of foam behind the centre of the O so I could add that too.
