Handmade Cards

Minions

I got the MFT Blueprints 31 dienamics set recently. Just looking at it reminds me of minions so I had to make a minion card!

I used some Lawn Fawn card stock for the yellow, die cutting it with the largest rounded stitched rectangle in the set. I cut the middle piece from black card stock and used a circle die to cut a white circle to go underneath.

To get the grey circle around the eye, I die cut the middle piece again, this time from white card stock. I then used a circle die to cut it into a frame, adding MFT steel blue ink to get the right colour.

I wanted the eye to move around, so I used some of the fab MFT circle shaker pouches, which fit perfectly with the blueprints 31 die. I cut a circle of black foam for the eye, adding a small highlight with a tiny circle die cut.

I adhered everything together and adhered to a white card base to finish. I toyed with the idea of adding a mouth, but chose to keep things simple and leave with just the eye.

These minion cards are so fun and I love the way the eye moves around in the shaker.

I’m entering the Simon Says Summer Sunshine challenge. That yellow card is so vibrant and summery!
