Hello, I have another box card to share today. I began this new baby box card by creating the pieces to go inside it.
I die cut two MFT Stitched Rainbows, as I wanted a rainbow on both sides. As I needed a smaller rainbow to fit within the box card, I only used the three smaller sections of the rainbows, adding a different distress ink colour to each with a sponge dauber. I liked the distress inks but decided I wanted a more vibrant look. On the second rainbow, I used zig clean colour real brush pens, and was happier with the result.
I layered the rainbows together, adding some MFT Cloud 9 clouds to front and back. I also sandwiched some strips of acetate behind the clouds at the back so I could have the rainbow floating in the box.
The rest of the images are from the fabulous Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie stamp set. I used copics to colour them in, adding details with a white gel pen and Wink of Stella clear glitter. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
I continued the rainbow theme with a lovely 12×12 paper I found in my stash. I used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-up die (my favourite purchase this year) to cut the box and three inserts.
I added some MFT Grassy Hills to the inserts, then put the box together. The balloons and bird are attached with acetate strips so they float above, like the rainbow.
Finally, I added a white card panel with a gold heat embossed greeting. The greeting is a combination of sentiments from the Elphie Selfie stamp set and the Altenew Oriental Orchid stamp set.
I really love the colours in this box card, with the beautiful sunset orange really setting the scene nicely.
I’m entering this card in to the Lawn Fawnatics Summertime Fun competition.
Oh wow, such a beautiful card! I love the rainbow and the striped paper, really wonderful design and a perfect way to welcome a new baby! Thanks for sharing with us at Lawn Fawnatics!
