Clean and Simple Genius – MFT Card Design 2017 Competition

I’m excited that MFT are having another card design superstar competition this year. I didn’t get chance to enter last year and really wish I had, so definitely going to have a go this year.

Clean and simple is the style I lean towards most, so I started with a card for that category.

I wanted to create the look of a sentiment within a frame and the Celebrate dienamic fits perfectly in one of the rounded rectangle frames. I die cut them both from white card three times, and layered them for dimension.

For the background I used the big balloon stencil and MFT inks to add balloons across the card front. I flicked them with water for some texture, then added the white frame and die cut word on the top, at an angle.

I liked the look of the white so added some white stars, from the stitched strip dienamics, also layered up three times to match the frame and word.

I’m entering this card into the MFT Card Design Superstar Competition – Clean and Simple Genius category.

Supplies used:

  • MFT rounded rectangle frame
  • MFT Big Balloon stencil
  • MFT inks (ripe raspberry, coral crush, sunshine, bubblegum, peach bellini)
  • MFT Celebrate word die
  • MFT Stitched strip dienamics (stars)
