I love this months challenge at Seven Hills Crafts. Spotlighting is such a fun technique and can be used in many ways to make a great card.
For my design team inspiration card, I chose the Lawn Fawn Out of this World stamp set and used one of my galaxy backgrounds that I made a while ago. I’ll put the spotlight on a centre panel with the pattern continuing without colour on the card base.
I cut the background down with a rounded rectangle die, small enough to leave plenty of room around it on the card base.
Next, I stamped and cut out lots of images from the stamp set. I coloured a few with copics but left others free of colour.
I layered the coloured images on the galaxy background, making sure that some overlapped the edges and cutting off any overhang. I then adhered some plain planets on to the card base, so they matched where the overlapping coloured planets would end.
I added the galaxy background onto the card base with foam tape, then a layer of glossy accents on the astronaut’s helmet and the rocket window.
I hope you’ll join us at the Seven Hills Crafts blog competition this month, for a chance to win a £20 voucher.
